Back to school already?

The cliche, time flies, is true isn't it? It seems like we waited forever for the long overdue summer weather here in Chicago and were then blessed with record temperatures. I must admit though, I didn't complain about the heat, I truly do enjoy making the most of every day whether it's blazing heat or snow and ice.

Now it's back to school time. A new beginning for our children and all the thrills and concerns that accompany the new year - schedule changes, new teachers, new friends and of course new schoolwork. Be there for your children, guide them and fight the urge to shelter them from harm. Use every opportunity to teach them to become a better human being, without judgement and stereotyping ....and without the biases you carry. Learn from your children too since there is nothing more sacred than hearing a child's perspective about the situation and seeing the world through their eyes. Love them, protect them and guide them for they truly are being molded on a daily basis.
